Our History

The International Florist Academy and School (IFAS) is one of the oldest flower design schools in Quebec, Canada and the world. 

 

1. IFAS was founded in Montreal in 1978 as the Montreal Floral Art School Inc. Since then the school has not ceased to improve its training, performance and services. 

 

2. In 1991, Mrs. Lan developed a unique concept and an original program that was like a breath of fresh air in the floral art profession. Her new teaching technique revolutionized the study of floral design by significantly reducing the amount of time needed for certification without compromising professional integrity or the quality of instruction. 

 

3. On the same year, 1991, the school changed its name to the International Florist Academy and School. Renowned for its proficiency and professionalism IFAS is: 

• Accredited by Emploi-Quebec

• Recognized by the Ministry of Education in New Brunswick

• Member of the National Association of Career Colleges

• Member of the National Association of Career Colleges of New Brunswick 

 

4. In 2002, the International Florist Academy and School was inaugurated in Louisiana to satisfy the growing need of the florist's Ihe of work. 

 

5. The Academy, lead by its founder and director Mrs. Nguyen PJgoc Lan, AIR) is comprised of a group of qualified and experienced professors in the floral industry.
